It’s a child’s toy—what could go wrong?
While playing with a spirit board, two sorority sisters summon the vindictive spirits of three women brutally murdered by a psychopath. Join Logan, Kacie, and the rest of the Orion Circle as they delve into the disturbing events of the past to find the key to freeing the spirits.
But this isn’t any ordinary haunting. These ghosts were banished before, and now they have returned more powerful than anyone could have imagined. Anger breeds hatred and hatred leads to darkness—these phantoms are on the verge of losing their last spark of humanity and becoming completely lost to the shadows.
Can Logan and Kacie convince the tortured souls to embrace the light and move on, or will the spirits succumb to the hypnotic pull of evil, leading to an eternity of torment and suffering?

I was so excited to see that Kacie and the rest of the Orion Circle’s story continued! This book was a little bit different as it was mostly from Logan’s POV. We still had Kacie’s POV every once in a while, but Logan was the main character and he definitely took us on a wild ride.
This plot was about a group of Sorority girls who had been brutally murdered and were stuck at their sorority house. They had been “re-awakened” when some current, present time sorority girls bought an ouija board and awakened the spirits. In comes the Orion Circle. They were tasked with assisting the spirits into the next plane and it wasn’t an easy task.
I found in the first book, I really liked Logan’s character but was starting to feel a bit different as the story progressed. It almost seemed like Logan was getting to be more of a baby than he had been at the beginning. However, the more I read and the more he came to his senses, the more I liked him again. I really enjoy his character, Kacie, Blake, and Raven and I enjoyed they had a chance to grow in this book. I’m hoping we get to see more of them as the series continues.
As I kept reading this book, it reminded me of Meg Cabot’s Mediator series and I loved that about it! It was similar enough that my interest was piqued at the beginning, yet different enough that it wasn’t the same story and I was able to garner new things from it. I really enjoyed the book and I can’t wait for the next one!!
I have it 4.5 magical stars!!
My review for book 1:
**I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This did not influence my review. **
Tortured Souls is the first installment of The Orion Circle books and I greatly enjoyed it. It was a fast paced story about a young, teenage girl who finally comes to terms with her gift as she finally has support from people around her. It involves witches, demons, spirits, clairvoyants, and more and I have to say that I was hooked from the very beginning.
Kacie’s character had a chance to grow, learn, and accept new information that opened up a whole new world for her and her abilities. I enjoyed following her story and I am excited to continue to read through the series!
I gave this book 5 magical stars!
