Something greater than human…
Jaylen Hayes knows that she is different from all other seventeen-year-old girls. Possessing extraordinary intelligence, she is also uncannily powerful and inexplicably hated by wild animals. But it is not until she transfers to Trinity High that she learns the truth about who—and what—she really is.
Instinctively drawn to two new classmates—the intense and passionate Indigo, and the charismatic and breathtakingly gorgeous Michael—Jaylen soon learns the shocking secret of their shared heritage, and the bloodline that extends to the stars. However, all is not what it seems, and Jaylen soon finds her newfound security threatened when a trusted friend becomes a dangerous and vengeful enemy.
I was given this book for free by the author and it did not influence my review in any way.
Let me just say, from the beginning of this book, I was hooked! The plot and the storyline moved quickly and kept me entertained. I told myself over and over as I read this book, that it reminded me of the TV show Roswell, that I was hopelessly addicted to. I think I’ve found myself addicted to this storyline as well.
Reading along Jaylen’s story, I found myself always trying to guess what she was going to do next. I loved the developement in her character and I loved how some of her relationships grew throughout the story, instead of staying stagnant like they sometimes do in books.I’m not going to lie, it did take me a while before I figured out what Jaelyn was, but I was so involved in the story and wondering why she had the somewhat magical powers, and her confrontations, that I didn’t even realize it.
I was never a fan of Indigo’s and I am very intrigued as to where the story is going to take everyone next. I did really enjoy Kennedy’s character! I was sad to see the story end and am eagerly awaiting the announcement of a second book.
I gave this book 4.5 magical stars!
Happy page turning!
